When your house is for sale, and you have pets at home, you definitely have to do a balancing act of making sure that your home is available for showings but also that your pets are physically and emotionally safe. Read on to see what to do with your pets during showings. If you work from home or are retired, the easiest thing to do is to take your pets with you whenever you leave for showings. You can go for a drive in the car (my dog loves car rides!) or go for a walk around your neighborhood (my dog always loves walkies!).
If you cannot personally remove your pet each time there is a showing, you may consider having a friend, family member, or trusted pet sitter pick them up to take them for walks or take them to their home for the day. A final option would be to take your pets to a pet daycare, where they can socialize with other animals. Whatever you decide, the most important thing is that your pets are safe and out of the way of potential buyers.
