Pantry Organization Tips

Organization is key when it comes to your pantry. If you are like me, you may find yourself forgetting about things in the back of the pantry until long after their expiration date. Fortunately, I have learned some ways to keep food waste down and keep my sanity intact.

Keep reading to see my helpful tips to get your pantry organized.

1. First, take everything out of the pantry and group items together by type (i.e. canned goods, dry goods, snacks, etc.).
2. Determine what each shelf will hold. 
3. Use clear labeled containers and labeled bins to store similar items together and make them easier to find. ​Use baskets or trays to store items like snacks, fruits, and vegetables.
4. Keep items that you use most often within easy reach.
5. Utilize the back of the pantry door for hanging storage of items like aprons, cleaning supplies, and other items that need to be accessible.
6. Invest in a lazy Susan or turntable to easily access items in the back corner of your pantry.
7. Use a shelf riser or a tiered shelf to add more space in your pantry.
8. Utilize empty wall space with wall-mounted shelves or magnetic containers.
9. Finally, declutter and purge items that you don't need and anything that is expired to make room for the items you do use.
