I always recommend doing a final walk-through before closing on a home purchase. This is one of the biggest investments you will make, and you want to make sure everything is right before you sign on the dotted line. Read on to see why you should always do a final walk-through on your new home before closing.Doing a final walk-through will allow you to confirm that all agreed-upon repairs have been made, that all fixtures and appliances that come with the house are present, and that the home is in the same condition as when you made the offer. Some sellers have not been properly educated by their agents and simply do not realize what they are and are not allowed to take with them, and unfortunately, sometimes the weather can cause catastrophic damage in a short amount of time. You want to make sure that there is no flooding from a recent rainstorm, no burst pipes from a recent hard freeze, and no fence damage from a recent windstorm.
Doing a final walk-through with your agent (me!) will also give you a chance to ask any final questions and make sure that you are satisfied with the property before closing. Questions about the walk-through? Email me!
