In addition to the myriad of big coffee chains like Starbucks, Katy is also home to a number of independent or smaller chain coffee shops. Never one to turn down a coffee with a friend, there are few coffee shops in Katy that I have not frequented.
Read on to see my favorite Katy coffeehouses.
1. One11 Coffee Roasters
By far the cutest and girliest coffee shop in Katy, One11 Coffee Roasters is one of my favorite spots to grab a coffee. Their Chai Tea Latte is outstanding!
Location: 2004 S Mason Road, Katy
This creperie is another great place to enjoy a coffee or tea. Grab a hot beverage and a crepe (savory or sweet) and grab a seat in their cozy interior or the small outdoor patio.
Location: 1645 Winding Hollow Drive, Katy
Serving coffees, teas, pastries, and breakfast and lunch eats, Homebrew features seasonal beverages and good vibes.
Location: 21040 Highland Knolls Drive, Katy
4. Black Rock Coffee Bar
This small nationwide chain has a great selection of coffees and pastries. I love the open concept when they open the big window door and let the inside flow to the outside.
Location: 1420 W Grand Pkwy S, Katy
5. Kona Reserve Coffee
Kona Reserve's beans come from Hawaii. Their coffees and pastries are tasty, and the interior is bright and inviting.
Location: 4020 FM 1463, Katy
6. Proud Pie
Though technically not a coffee shop, this pie shop offers a nice selection of coffees and other hot beverages. Also, pie!
Location: 3522 S Mason Rd, Katy
7. Dulcédo Coffee
Mayan. Mocha. Latte. Seriously, this is one of my favorite hot drinks around the Katy area. Do yourself a favor and try it! They also serve breakfast and lunch bites, so go for the coffee and stay for a meal.
Location: 26750 Farm to Market 1093, Richmond
8. Kona Roastery
The beans at Kona Roastery also hail from Hawaii, and the interior will give you all the tropical Hawaiian vibes.
Location; 25829 Cinco Ranch Blvd, Katy
9. The Coffee Barr
Located in Olde Katy, The Coffee Barr gives total farmhouse cozy vibes. With hot and cold drinks and sweet treats, this is sure to become one of your favorites!
Location: 1933 East Ave, Katy
This local chain typically features convenient drive-through windows, and some have outdoor seating available. Their menu includes refreshing hot and cold beverages, pastries, and breakfast and lunch sandwiches.
Location: 505 S Fry Road, Katy (with other locations throughout Katy/Richmond/Houston)
11. Summer Moon Coffee
Another smaller chain with locations throughout Texas and scattered around the U.S., Summer Moon's claim to fame is their "Texas oak roasted coffee." Enjoy a coffee there and take a bag of oak roasted beans with you.
Location: 19901 Kingsland Blvd, Houston
12. Nuestra Casa
This South American bakery offers savory and sweet pastries with a selection of coffees to complement the tasty treats.
Location: 1830 S Mason Road, Katy
13. PJ's Coffee
PJ's Coffee was born in New Orleans, but Katy is loving them! In addition to your standard pastries and sandwiches, PJ's also offers a New Orleans favorite - beignets! Get your coffee and your sweet fix at PJ's.
Location: 2533 W Grand Pkwy N, Katy
14. The Perfect Latte
Head a little further south to Richmond for a cup o' Joe at The Perfect Latte. With various seating arrangements, you'll love the cozy vibe indoors, or, on a nice day, enjoy the outdoor seating as well.
Location: 7417 W Grand Pkwy S
15. Scooter's Coffee
The Scooter's concept involves drive-through coffees only, and frankly, when I'm in a hurry, I am totally here for it! They offer a punch card allowing you to earn punches toward a free coffee.
Location: 979 S Mason Rd, Katy (with another location on Barker Cypress in Houston)
Have I missed any of your favorite Katy area coffee shops? What's your favorite hot beverage?

Serene Beans definitely deserves to be on the list for coffee. They have the highest reviews of any coffee shop in Katy. Just sayin.

Hi, Michael, glad you mentioned that! I like the vibe at Serene Beans. Unfortunately, when I went, I asked if my latte could be made with almond milk, and the young lady said, "Sorry, we don't have that." When I asked if she had any non-dairy options, she said no. So I left with a plain black drip coffee. Maybe she was new, or maybe it was an "off" day and they were out of all their usual non-dairy milks, but it was a disappointment. If you know for sure that they normally do have non-dairy milk options, I'm happy to give them another chance!
